The Velour Story
When the world came to a standstill during the COVID-19 pandemic, aesthetic treatments vanished overnight. While at-home haircuts and facials became the norm, injectables were completely out of reach. That's when Dr. Michael Kennis — a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with a passion for aesthetics — saw an opportunity to redefine the injectable experience for both the patient and the provider.
In 2020, Velour Medical was born with a simple but powerful vision: to bring high-quality aesthetic care directly to patients' homes at a time when safety, convenience, and personalized attention had never been more essential.
As demand increased, Dr. Kennis set out to build a team, meeting and connecting organically with talented injectors across the industry. What emerged in those conversations was a clear pattern: RNs, NPs, and PAs — many of whom were the true drivers of client trust and aesthetic outcomes — were being undervalued. Despite their expertise, they were treated as service providers rather than entrepreneurs, leaders, or brands. They lacked autonomy, were under-compensated, and rarely received the recognition they deserved. That realization exposed a deep flaw in the industry and became the spark behind Velour's mission. We built a platform designed to elevate injectors: empowering them to own their work, grow as entrepreneurs, and step fully into the spotlight, all while delivering a best-in-class client experience.
In December 2024, Velour opened its flagship: a 12,000-square-foot space in the heart of NoMad, NYC. Rooted in the same concierge values that shaped our early days, the flagship blends luxury, clinical excellence, and independence under one roof.
Today, Velour is the go-to destination for the most discerning faces and the launchpad for the next generation of elite injectors.
